Pathway Adolescent
prison ministry

Behind every experience

there’s a child longing for love, guidance, and grace.

Behind every experience, there’s a child longing for love, guidance, and grace. Many of us have felt the call to minister to those in prison but haven’t known where to begin.

For the past ten years, Our Lady of Lourdes has partnered with the Pathway program to bring hope and healing to incarcerated youth in Volusia County. The journey begins with an Initial Walk—a two-evening and weekend retreat where young people are introduced to Christian concepts that inspire better choices and a new way forward.

This is followed by six months of mentoring, with twice-monthly visits where each youth is paired with a caring, mature Christian mentor. These relationships are the heart of the program—offering consistency, compassion, and the love of Christ.

Your Presence Matters: Become the first promise a young person can count on.

You don’t need special training or experience to serve—just a willingness to show up and share your faith. All preparation is provided.

Rooted in the Christian tradition and open to all denominations, Pathway follows the model of St. Paul’s prison ministry. We invite you to discern with us: Is this where your gifts, prayers, and love are being called?

Your presence might be the first promise a young person can count on. As Jesus said in Matthew 25:36: “I was in prison and you visited me.

WELCOME HERE

(WHERE ALL MEANS ALL.)

Seriously.  Every week at Our Lady of Lourdes, Christians and non-Christians, believers and doubters, seekers and skeptics, the fired-up and totally worn out, all come together to explore what it means to say yes to something real, hopeful, and new.
