All life is

A Community Committed
to the Dignity of Life

Because no one is beyond the reach of God's love.

At Our Lady of Lourdes, we believe every human life is sacred — from conception to natural death — and that this belief calls us to action. ur commitment to the Gospel of Life compels us to stand with the unborn, with immigrants seeking safety and opportunity, with those living in poverty, and even with those society has condemned. Because being pro-life—means every life.

We welcome all who desire to stand for the Gospel of Life, to proclaim that every person is created in the image of God, and to help build a parish where compassion, justice, and mercy guide our witness.

Stand for Life: Prayer Vigil in Starke

Join us as we journey to Starke to take a peaceful stand for life. In this sacred moment, we come together at ground zero to ask for God’s mercy, healing, and comfort for Norman Grim Jr., for his family, for his victims and their loved ones, and for all whose lives are touched by violence. May our presence be a witness to hope, compassion, and the transforming power of God’s love.

The next scheduled execution
is on December 9th

Our parish lives out this mission in concrete ways:

  • Witness for Mercy: We regularly travel more than two hours to prayerfully stand at Florida state executions. This act of presence proclaims that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love, even in their final hours.

  • Support for Immigrants: We stand with our immigrant sisters and brothers, recognizing their dignity and advocating for just and compassionate treatment in our community and in our laws.

  • Voice for the Vulnerable: We seek to be a parish that is both a voice for life and a sanctuary of compassion — a place where hope is nurtured and every life is cherished.

Cherishing life at every stage, in every circumstance, is our Gospel call. Together, we invite you to walk with us in this mission of dignity, mercy, and hope.

STANDING IN SACRED WITNESS

As people of faith, we believe that every human life is sacred—created in the image of God and worthy of dignity, even in its most broken moments. That’s why we maintain a prayerful presence at all state-sanctioned executions. In silence and solidarity, we bear witness to the value of life, even as the state prepares to take it.

Our presence is not political, but deeply spiritual—a public act of compassion, sorrow, and unwavering belief in the power of mercy over violence. Through prayer, we honor the lives lost, lament the systems that perpetuate death, and lift up the hope of transformation, justice, and peace.
